Cedar Downs

Cedar Downs is one of the neatest rides I've ever seen! It's a carousel-type ride, except the horses *race* each other! There's 4 horses in a row, and the 4 horses move forward and backward. At the end, the one out in front wins the race! It also runs a lot faster than a regular carousel. We had so much fun on it, I took a picture of Geoff on the ride. Enjoy!

    Racing Horses
These kids seem to be enjoying racing the horses!

    Plaque
Outside of the ride, there is a plaque that reads...

    CEDAR DOWNS RACING DERBY

One of the largest of the famous racing derby rides built by Prior & Church in the early 1920's. It was originally built for Euclid Beach Park near Cleveland, Ohio, where it was a popular ride for 47 years.

Cedar Point purchased the ride in 1967 and moved it to its present location, restoring it to its original condition.

Cedar Downs continues to delight thousands of riders every year, helping to preserve the memory of one of America's great amusement parks, Euclid Beach, which closed in 1969.
